Ordering Sod Online

Are your prices online?

Yes, available sod types can be purchased online. Prices are subject to change without notice, but we will contact you before fulfilling your order if there is a price difference.

When should I order my sod if I'm DIYing?

Do not have your sod delivered until the area is completely clear of debris and prepared for sod installation. The sod needs to be installed immediately after delivery.

If I order online, when will my sod be delivered?

We are committed to delivering sod fresh cut from the farm. When you place your order online, please include the desired delivery date, gate code information, and preferred unloading instructions. We are unable to provide a delivery time, but we can give a window of time that the sod will be delivered. Please clearly mark where you'd like the sod pallets to be placed using marking paint or flags if you're unable to be on site. The forklift is 9 feet wide. We will be happy to place the pallets anywhere the machine can fit.

Can I pick up my sod at your location?

We currently do not have a pick-up option available.

Is there a minimum order amount for delivery?

There is a one-time delivery fee of $45 if an order is placed online. The delivery fee covers the entire order whether it's one pallet or 100 pallets. The minimum order is one pallet.

When is the best time to install sod?

Sod can be installed year-round. However, the best time to install sod is during the spring and fall when the rain and heat aren't as extreme.

Can I just purchase sod without paying for installation?

Yes, of course! We regularly deliver sod to homeowners and landscapers that install on their own. Be sure to have the area prepared before the sod arrives. It's best to place your order online 2-3 days ahead of the desired delivery date.

How do I know how many pallets I need to order?

You can calculate the square footage of the area by multiplying length times width.

Or use the area calculator tool provided by Sod Solutions to draw and measure how much you'll need. Here's a video to guide you through the steps.

How to Measure

What should I do to prep the ground before laying sod?

Before digging, be sure to submit a request to 811 and the necessary utility companies to have gas, electric, water, and cable lines marked. Call at least two full business days before any planned digging. Flag  sprinklers  and  inspect  your  irrigation  system.

The area should be properly prepared before the sod is delivered. All existing turf needs to be removed using a shovel, rototiller, or sod cutter. If you choose to use herbicide, be sure to follow the labels on the product. Rake the soil smooth, taking care to fill in any low areas and lower any high spots—this  will  prevent  drainage  issues  down  the  road.  Use a rake to pull the soil back or a flat, square shovel to lower the soil to about one to two inches below hard surfaces like sidewalks and driveways. If this step is skipped, the sod will sit too high and create drainage issues as well as a tripping hazard. Use  the  same  technique  to  lower  your  soil  1/2  to  1  inch  from  your  neighbors’  lawn  to  blend  the  new  sod  with  your  neighbor.

When can I get a price break?

We can work on pricing if the job or delivery is more than a truckload, which is 18 pallets.. Would you be interested in ordering 18 or more pallets? Check out our Truckload Pricing online!
